Description

Our Assistant Learning Officers (ALO) will support our Outdoor Learning Officers in delivering outdoor learning events through all stages from planning through to publicity, preparation, delivery and clear up. The ALOs will at all times work to facilitate the efficient and professional delivery of our sessions and school visits. This may include the preparation of educational materials and artwork. Initially ALOs will work with other Under the Trees (UTT) staff but there will be the opportunity to develop to ALOs developing and leading their own sessions where comfortable. UTT provides a wide variety of different sessions to schools, community groups, families and individuals with a wide range of outdoor themes. ALOs will need to carry out research in order to assist with designing the event and design high quality social media content to publicise our activities. As our services put us in contact with the public, staff of other organisations as well as public spaces and other workplaces cleanliness is key and therefore there are cleaning duties for all staff. As a charity our reputation is important and all staff are required to speak to our clients, potential clients and the general public in a professional, friendly and positive manner. We rely heavily on funding and donations and therefore all staff are required to assist the Business Development Officer in fundraising activities.

Essential criteria

We need our staff to have excellent verbal and written English skills and experience with social media and be confident in producing high, quality, engaging social media posts. Applications must be happy working outdoors in all weather: we can provide training to give the needed skills to go with that. If you are a positive, imaginative, honest and dependable person who can work on their own initiative then academic qualifications are not essential but knowledge of countryside subjects including wildlife and food production would be highly valued.

25 hours per week 4 days over 7.

One hour unpaid lunch break.

Under 18 - £4.62
18 to 20 - £6.56
21 to 22 - £8.36
23 and over - £8.91
